Cacao, Mixed Berry and Maca Smoothie



2 teaspoons raw cacao nibs
1 teaspoon raw cacao powder
1 teaspoon raw maca powder
1 handful frozen raspberries
1 handful frozen blueberries
4-5 frozen strawberries
250ml cold water or almond milk

Option: add organic whey protein powder for an extra boost of quality protein


1. Add the water or almond milk to a good blender. Adding the liquid first helps to prevent the powder from sticking to the sides once it starts whizzing around.
1 (a) We use either the 1000W NutriNinja BL480 or 1200W Ninja Blender BL492. You can use any blender you want; these are just the ones that we use and think do a good job.
2. Add 1 teaspoon cacao nibsmaca powder, cacao powder, raspberries, blueberries and strawberries (in any order).
2 (a) Drop in 10g of organic whey protein powder if using.
3. Blend until smooth.
4. Pour into a tumbler, glass or otherwise fancy jar.
5. If the smoothie is thick enough to hold them, drop 1 teaspoon of raw cacao nibs on top. The less liquid used, the thicker the smoothie.
6. Enjoy!

Tip: swill out your blender or bullet with warm water as soon as possible after use - it will save you time with the washing up (#winning) and means you won't need to put it through the dishwasher as often!
